Today I went wandering on the small dirt trial behind the Target store in North Haven. Though the trail isn't particularly long, it does off many spectacular views of the Quinnipiac River, the accompanying marsh and the hills in the distance. Below, an osprey perches on a nesting platform in the marsh as Sleeping Giant looms in the background.
From the rear portion of the Target parking lot, the trail can be accessed by simply heading towards the river. It's easy to spot once you get near the edge of the river.
Several groups of anglers climbed down the embankment to try their luck on the sandy banks.
The North Haven Trail Association plans to eventually turn this little trail into a paved trail for walking, biking, etc.
